The final-round fixture attracted enormous interest; it had been a long time since so many people came to the Orešković ground. The hosts drew attention with their effort, but also with largely disjointed play and an inability to score. The champions started cautiously, defended for the most part and counter-attacked only occasionally, though those breaks were very dangerous for Jegar's goal. In the 9th minute the home goalkeeper pushed a 17-metre Đurović free kick out of the bottom left corner for a corner, and in the 12th a Janić shot whistled just past the top right corner. In the 24th minute Bakić fouled Kitli some 18 metres out and Hun's free kick struck the crossbar. A minute later Markov could only turn a Zorić shot behind. Until the break the play was mostly confined to the area between the two boxes.
After the change of ends Senta went on the attack and were soon rewarded: in the 51st minute Hun raced down the left, dribbled past Bakić and picked out Paku superbly, and he shot into the bottom right corner from some 12 metres. In the 65th minute Markov only just tipped a 20-metre Zorić free kick over the bar, and from the corner Janić headed wide from five metres. In the 72nd minute Rozsa replaced the injured Kitli and with his first touch burst into the box, where Bakić brought him down from behind. The referee rightly pointed to the spot and Farago made no mistake. In the time that remained Markov pushed a fierce Zorić shot out of the bottom right corner in the 79th minute, and Ladušić fired over from an excellent position in the 88th. All in all Senta played like champions at Orešković, and the win secured their promotion.
