A draw after a heated finish - Bačka vs. Senta (00/01)

The Tisza derby produced a combative, consistently exciting match that was not short of temper. Bačka were a shade the better side in the first half: in the 33rd minute S. Stojanović brought Tajti down inside the box and Popov converted the penalty. In the 44th Gyatko was put clear, but his shot passed centimetres wide of the left post.

The visitors stepped it up after the break and from the 60th minute kept the home goal under constant pressure. In the 65th, from a cross on the left, Bojić was left unmarked to head the ball over Toth into the net from about ten metres. Budai headed against the crossbar in the 69th, and in the 79th Andrusko's shot from 16 metres threatened again.

In the final minute S. Pajić floated the ball in and A. Pajić headed into the top right corner, only for the referee to give offside on his linesman's signal and disallow it. Tempers boiled over after that, the home side insisting there had been no offside at all. The referee was not equal to his task, but the teams also dwelt on his decisions far more than was warranted.
