A draw to open the spring - Obilić vs. Senta (81/82)

The first spring meeting of the old Tisa rivals brought more fight than fine football. The forwards were slow to get going and several good chances were missed at both ends. The hosts began better: as early as the 3rd minute Ilić was face to face with the goalkeeper but shot wide, and in the 9th Markov dealt superbly with a shot from ten metres. After a quarter of an hour Senta settled and spent more and more time in the home half, their quick counters organised by the experienced Todorović, whose accurate crosses more than once caused panic in the Obilić defence. Luckily for the hosts, the Senta forwards wasted even the best chances.

The pattern was repeated after the break. In the 47th minute the hosts missed the biggest chance of the match: after a through ball the goalkeeper was rounded, but I. Zmukić cleared off the line. In the 56th minute the visitors unexpectedly went ahead, Miklos beating the goalkeeper from 16 metres. The goal did not break the hosts, and five minutes later came the equaliser: after a run by Mijatov the ball came into the middle and Ilić swept it in. Both teams then went for the win and the game became a little rougher.
