Senta could have settled the match in the opening minutes, but their forwards missed four nearly clear-cut chances; in the 5th minute Kispal headed a Božić cross into the goalkeeper's hands from six metres.

Although Senta were attacking, it was the visitors who went ahead, after a poorly punched ball. The hosts turned the score round by half-time, but the game grew rougher and rougher, and the referee sent off a Senta player. In the second half the visitors equalised.
