A good start, a heavy defeat in Kovilj - Šajkaš vs. Senta (93/94)

It was an exciting, combative match from start to finish, and very well refereed. Senta were the more dangerous side early on: in the 12th minute a Beharić drive grazed the post, and two minutes later Rudics had a chance but no luck either. The hosts only became a threat after half an hour. In the 35th minute Miličević shot from 18 metres and the ball went in via the head of a Senta defender. The unexpected goal hit the visitors like a cold shower and lifted the hosts, and five minutes later Ugarković made it 2:0.

At the start of the second half Senta regrouped, threw everything forward and outplayed their hosts. In the 53rd minute Blagojević could only stop Todorović, clean through in the box, by fouling him, and M. Simendić converted the penalty. The hoped-for equaliser never came, though: in their eagerness the visitors piled error upon error, and Šajkaš punished them with three more goals, Belec adding one more for Senta.
