The yellow-and-blues kept their promise and put an end to the run of goalless draws. Yet on the evidence of the first 45 minutes and the string of big chances missed, not even the most optimistic supporters could have expected so emphatic a win, for in that period the bottom side was a worthy opponent. Just when it seemed the teams would go in goalless, in the 44th minute the visiting goalkeeper could only parry an Agoston thunderbolt, and Kitli ran on to the loose ball to score a goal of rare beauty from some 22 metres.
After the break it took seven minutes for the second: Todorović burst down the left at lightning speed, beat three or four players and played the ball into the box, where substitute Nikolić ran on to it and scored with an unstoppable shot. Three minutes later Kitli added the third from another Todorović attack. Senta were now completely on top: in the 65th minute Nikolić found the unmarked Kitli, who got the fourth, and Todorović scored the fifth from a solo run, shaking off several players and finishing from the corner of the box. The visitors pulled one back in the 75th minute, when Jekić took advantage of a poor back-pass.
