It was a match of average quality. The hosts spent more time in the visitors' half, and the visitors often stopped dangerous attacks by fouling. Early in the second half Sarkany stayed down after a clash, was carried off and taken to hospital.

The first goal came in the 26th minute: in a goalmouth scramble the visiting defence left Krizsan free for a moment and he headed the ball into the net. After the break the hosts came on strongly, the visiting goalkeeper had a great deal to do, and Krizsan scored two more. For the last quarter of an hour heavy snowfall hampered play. Soti, Pinter and Bajusz stood out.
