The Senta players made very heavy weather of it and only with great difficulty beat Horgoš, one of the weakest sides in the league. The first half was marked by a slight territorial edge for the hosts: Mazak, Kitli and Feher all missed chances before Feher scored the opener after a quarter of an hour. In the 30th minute Horvath hit the post on the counter.
The pattern did not change after the break. Senta had the initiative, but fierce shots from Kitli and N. Zmukić did not alter the score. Some twenty minutes of midfield play followed, with both attacks harmless. The hosts' second goal came in the 75th minute, when Đurović crossed and Kitli finished unstoppably. Horgoš played with less and less heart and shape, and in the 86th minute Mazak punished a bad defensive error with a shot from 16 metres under the bar. Three minutes later the Senta defence fell asleep: Toth dribbled past several players and set the final score.
