A Narandžić hat-trick, and Pocs misses a penalty - Panonija vs. Senta (88/89)

It was clear from the start that the visitors had come to defend, but with little success, as in the 7th minute Maleš pounced on a Bata cross and scored. That was the only incident worth mentioning in the first half.

The game became a little more exciting after the change of ends, thanks largely to the home attack, which kept Markov's goal under a barrage for the first quarter of an hour. After two wasted chances Narandžić found the bottom right corner from 15 metres in the 50th minute, and in the 57th he tried again and again caught Markov out. In the 67th minute Birkas pulled one back after a solo run, and that was all the visitors could manage. In the 75th minute Maleš took a free kick, the ball reached Narandžić and he scored his third past a helpless Markov. In the 88th minute Birkas was prominent again: he was fouled in the box by Karahodžić, but the home goalkeeper saved the penalty taken by Pocs.
