Senta were overwhelmingly on top for the first ten minutes. As early as the 3rd minute the visiting goalkeeper only just managed to keep out an 18-metre Štrbački drive, and the hosts then had two or three more chances that went begging. From the middle of the first half until the break it was midfield play; the Ada forward line rarely stirred, and the Senta goal was threatened only twice.
After the interval Senta stepped it up, and their attacks down the wings put the AFK defence to a severe test. From the 60th minute the ball was almost constantly in front of the visitors' goal. In the 62nd minute Štrbački rose at just the right moment to a cross from the right and put his side ahead with an unstoppable header. A minute later the scene was repeated, except that the ball flew centimetres over the bar, and Vukmirović then missed the biggest chance of the match from two metres. In the 67th minute an Ada defender handled inside the penalty area, but the referee's whistle stayed silent. From the 80th minute AFK took over, but the Senta defence cleared everything. Krizsan, Štrbački and Todorović stood out.
