A Štrbački solo run earns victory in Novi Kneževac - Obilić vs. Senta (77/78)

Meetings between these two Tisa rivals are usually memorable, but this time attractive, interesting football was missing. Because of injuries and suspensions the hosts fielded several youngsters, who tried hard but could not make up for the absentees. Senta's attacks in the first thirty minutes kept breaking down at the edge of the box or were dealt with by the home goalkeeper. The hosts' first serious move came in the 33rd minute, and in the 35th Gyolai only just managed to save a shot.

After the change of ends it looked as if the hosts might take the points, but their most dangerous forward found no support. In the 73rd minute, after a harmless-looking attack, Štrbački scored from a solo run to win the match for his side. On the run of play a draw would have been the fairer result. Gyolai and Rozsa stood out for Senta.
