A Vukmirović hat-trick on the opening day - Jedinstvo vs. Senta (77/78)

The league newcomers played an excellent first half and went ahead through Csanyi in the 31st minute. In the last minute of the half, however, the home goalkeeper conceded a soft goal, so the sides went in level at 1:1. Before kick-off, representatives of the Senta football sub-association presented the hosts with a trophy as last season's champions of the Tisa league.

After the break the more experienced Senta gradually took charge. In the 55th minute Jedinstvo wasted the biggest chance of the match to go back in front, and Vukmirović then scored a spectacular goal. While the hosts were waiting for an equaliser, their goalkeeper parried another Vukmirović shot badly and the ball ended up in the net. Vukmirović, Soti and Gyolai stood out for Senta.
