A win with nine men in Horgoš - Horgoš vs. Senta (79/80)

The Tisa derby was played before a good crowd in ideal, sunny weather. Both teams began at a great pace: in the first ten minutes Horgoš had two good chances, and a few minutes later the visitors missed a gilt-edged one. After that it was mostly midfield play; the hosts attacked more and laid siege to the Senta goal, but still could not score, as Markov dealt with everything. The first half thus ended goalless.

In the second half the visitors mostly defended, trying to run down the clock with long balls and clearances. The game became rather nervous and the Senta players argued with the referee several times, as a result of which Rozsa was sent off in the 60th minute and Krizsan in the 81st. The match seemed to be heading for a draw, which would have satisfied both sides; the hosts eased off, and the upshot was that in the 83rd minute the visitors, with nine men, scored: Popović turned in a cross from the right among helpless defenders.
