In cold, windy weather the derby went to the luckier side, a Senta team that fought with great drive. The hosts, who made many mistakes, could not impose themselves. Senta played faster and in a more organised way, and that earned them two important points. The hosts threatened first, but a Kovacs shot went wide in the 5th minute. In the 11th minute Nikolić seized on a loose pass and his shot came back off the foot of the post. Two minutes later Mrvaljević put an Inđić cross wide. In the 24th minute Senta had a free kick: the ball, delivered from the left on the line of the box, came off Peševski so unluckily that it ended up in Mihović's goal. The goal completely unsettled the hosts, who needed time to regroup. In the 44th minute Sipos I. ran down the right, but his cross-cum-shot flashed across Dukai's goal.
The pattern did not change much after the break: both teams played very openly and the hosts made more mistakes. In the 53rd minute a 17-metre Kovacs free kick went over, and in the 65th Agoston shot wide from a good position. In the 71st minute, after a move between Todorović and Agoston, Mihović saved with a brave dive. In the 73rd minute the referee sent off Martinović for unsporting behaviour. Down to ten men, Egység had their best chance in the 82nd minute, when Inđić struck the crossbar with a 17-metre free kick, and in the 89th the same player shot high over from close range.
