The two title contenders produced a match worthy of a derby: it was lively and exciting to the end, with many chances, especially in front of the visitors' goal, but both defences were rock-solid. The hosts, newcomers to the league, could have led as early as the 7th minute, and twelve minutes later Gabor broke through on goal but could not beat the goalkeeper.
After the break Partizan attacked very dangerously: in the 52nd minute Vitković barely tipped a 20-metre thunderbolt over the bar, and in the 58th Abraham cleared for a corner at the last moment. Senta's first dangerous attack brought the goal: in the 72nd minute Bajusz dribbled past two defenders and shot past the advancing goalkeeper. Bajusz, Abraham, Bognar and Mašulović stood out.
