Early on the visitors, with a slight edge, saw more of the ball in midfield and showed they had come to Senta for at least a point, but their attacks came to nothing. The hosts only began to find their feet after twenty minutes. First Farago had a clear chance but blazed over from a few metres out, and three minutes later Olajos erred in much the same way. The home pressure told in the 39th minute: Olajos got free some 17 metres from goal, only to be brought down by the Graničar defenders. Birkas curled the free kick masterfully into the net with the outside of his foot. The visiting goalkeeper then struggled to turn a fierce N. Zmukić shot behind, and in the 43rd minute the second goal came: the goalkeeper parried an Olajos shot, the ball came back to the same player and this time he made no mistake.
The second half continued with home attacks, though the chances mostly dried up. The visitors meanwhile regrouped and put the Senta goal under pressure with dangerous counter-attacks. In the 59th minute a Savić drive struck the crossbar. The hosts eased off a little, and after a bad defensive error J. Popov pulled one back. Savić could even have equalised in the 70th minute, but his header missed the target. For ten minutes the visitors laid siege to the home goal and wasted several big chances, before the hosts took control again. The third goal came in the 87th minute, when Potpara scored from the penalty spot.
