Performing well below their ability, Senta earned a win over a spirited Sloboda. The match was marked by countless missed chances: with sharper finishing the hosts could have been three up inside ten minutes, but neither Kitli nor Štrbački could hit the target from clear positions. Midfield play followed, and the visitors threatened from a well-organised attack through Nyul, whose shot from the edge of the box Markov saved. The unusually small crowd had to wait 41 minutes for a goal, when Kitli, from a Štrbački ball, this time made no mistake.
On a slippery, rain-soaked pitch Senta were the better side after the break. In the 47th minute Nikola Zmukić made it 2:0 with a goal of rare beauty, and in the 60th Ivica Zmukić found the bottom corner from an attack that had looked harmless. The visitors got their consolation from the penalty spot in the 80th minute.
