Cold shower against the leaders - Senta vs. Vinogradar (99/00)

In cold and windy weather the home match against the league leaders was played at a good tempo, and in the end the more experienced visitors took the points. The young Senta side were no mere bystanders, though: they gave the title contenders' defence plenty to do, only for their attacks to break down around the edge of the box.

The first real moment came in the 40th minute, when Novak made a sliding clearance but the ball ran to Gulyás, who shot wide of the left post. Three minutes later the linesman flagged for offside and the referee waved play on - Bošnjak did not understand the decision either and shot wide.

Senta began the second half far more purposefully, Vastag's shot passing centimetres over the bar. Then came the cold shower: a low free kick from the right slipped between the legs of the yellow-and-blue defenders and Radonjić scored from close in. The hosts pushed forward after that, and Bogdanivi's shot, after two feints, came back off the crossbar.
