Convincing win to close the autumn - Senta vs. Orešković (87/88)

The last round of the autumn went well for Senta. In a match of average quality but good tempo they comfortably beat the league newcomers, who stood near the top of the table. The hosts had both points secured by half-time, and with a little luck could have gone in further ahead, as three big chances went begging in the first ten minutes: Mazak was off target once, Nikolić twice. The pressure continued and paid off in the 17th minute: after a well-worked attack Csuzdi shot from some 18 metres, and the ball brushed a defender and the goalkeeper on its way into the bottom left corner. The second goal was not long in coming. In the 24th minute Stantić started the move, and Nikolić volleyed his ball into the box into the bottom left corner.

After the break the attacks went from end to end. The home defence had a little more to do, as the visitors were determined to pull one back, but they could not create a serious chance and Senta remained the more dangerous side. In the 65th minute Agoston played an excellent ball through to Nikolić, who shook off two defenders and lifted it over the advancing goalkeeper Jegar. The visitors then became more of a threat, which rather surprised the hosts, and late on Janjić pulled one back with a fierce shot from 16 metres that left Kranjec helpless. Mazak set the final score in the 87th minute in much the same way as Nikolić, lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper even though Jegar tried to stop him with a foul. The raised boot left Senta's left winger with a head injury and he could not continue. On the balance of play and chances, the win was fully deserved.
