Senta win the county cup on penalties

On Wednesday afternoon, one of the most exciting county cup finals in recent years was played at the Narodna bašta ground in Senta, where our team, Senta, faced Tornjoš - the winner was only decided after a penalty shootout.

The first half belonged entirely to our side: Fodor scored twice (in the 5th and 15th minutes), and a headed goal from Vilovski sent us into the break leading 3:0.

The second half, however, told a completely different story. Tornjoš answered with an incredible comeback: Horvát scored a hat-trick, and Gubik capped it off with a free-kick goal, leveling the score at 4:4 by the end - Živković's goal was our only strike of the second half.

With no further goals in normal time, the winner was decided by penalties. This time, luck - and nerves - were on our side: only Mandić missed for us, while Bózsity and Túri both missed for Tornjoš, allowing our team to lift the trophy with a 5:4 shootout win.

The trophy was presented to our team by Izabella Kovács, secretary of the Kanjiža-Senta-Ada county football association.
