First defeat after eleven rounds - Senta vs. Proleter (92/93)

After eleven rounds the yellow-and-blues suffered their first defeat, and they did so despite four gilt-edged chances, a run of corners and the more technical football. The visitors did not fashion a single real opening, yet went home with both points. The match was played at a good pace, the ball moving from one penalty area to the other by the minute, and in those exchanges it was usually Senta who had the chances.

In the first half Rudics, in the 13th and 32nd minutes, and Franjić, in the 37th, could each have put Senta ahead - all three chances were missed by a whisker. The visitors threatened from a free kick in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the bar. The hosts' five corners in that period, against one for the visitors, tell their own story.

The second half began at the same tempo. In the 50th minute Ozvegy saved a low shot, two minutes later Birkas sent a 30-metre drive just wide, and in the 55th Kitli too failed to take his chance. From the 68th minute the visitors took control and a minute later went ahead through Piri, a goal for which the home defence must share the blame. Senta played nervously and with many mistakes after that, and although they threw everything forward in the last ten minutes, the visiting defence held out.
