First spring win, though a nervy one - Senta vs. Preporod (84/85)

Senta gave their supporters a first win of the spring, though they kept them on edge throughout. After lively play they created a host of chances and could have scored a dozen against a visiting side from Novi Žednik that played with heart but without thought. The hosts were in control all along, and Dukai did not even have to leave his line until the 29th minute. The first goal took 21 minutes to arrive, Nikolić converting an Agoston cross. By then Senta were already taking their eighth corner, which shows how much on top they were. In the 25th minute Olajos set up Farago with an excellent ball and he made it 2:0. The visitors played with two men pushed forward and it paid off in the 35th minute, when Kopunović beat Dukai.

After the break the game was nerve-racking to watch. All the haste ended with Nošković equalising in the 67th minute. The goal that brought the two points was scored by Kitli in the 78th minute, from a goalmouth scramble. In the 88th minute the Preporod defence was at Senta's mercy, but neither Gyetvai, nor Agoston, nor Birkas could score. The win keeps the home side among the title contenders, but to actually win it they will need a far more serious approach and more efficient football.
