Almost every Senta player knew what he wanted, and by sticking completely to coach Major's instructions and tactics the yellow-and-blues proved their worth. The youngsters led the way: the defence closed up superbly, the midfielders worked well and the forwards finally put on their shooting boots. After furious attacks it took only six minutes for the first goal, scored from a solo move by young centre-forward Kitli. In the 13th minute Todorović picked out Kitli, who headed the well-flighted ball past the surprised goalkeeper Koza.
In the 31st minute Todorović released Agoston and the young right winger made no mistake: it was the finest goal of the match. The hosts then eased off a little and the visitors tried to pull one back, but in the 44th minute Markov made a brilliant diving save from a low Szekeres drive. The second half brought counter-attack after counter-attack: in the 59th minute a Kitli header struck the crossbar, and a minute later a shot from the visitors also hit the woodwork. Farago made it 4:0 from the penalty spot and Todorović set the final score in the 87th minute.
