Senta could have won the match already in the first half: they had never had so many chances in a match as before the break, but simply could not beat the visiting goalkeeper. At the time of greatest pressure Vršac went ahead from a counter-attack.

In the second half the luck turned and the hosts took almost every chance. In the 48th minute Vrana equalised with a header after a fine corner, and two minutes later Božić put them ahead from a solo effort. Straight afterwards the referee sent off a visiting player. Kispal scored the third from a solo run, Božić made it 4:1, and Kispal set the final score.
