The match began with flowing attacks, in which the hosts were the more prominent. The first half produced only one real chance, a header from some twenty metres that goalkeeper Markov saved comfortably. Senta played slightly better in that period but could not impose themselves, and Sloboda's attacks came to nothing before the break.
What the hosts had failed to do in the first half they made up for in abundance in the second. The restart had barely begun when Sloboda went ahead through Pešut in the 48th minute. Their attacks then became rarer but more dangerous, and after some hesitation in the Senta defence a second goal followed. The visitors' joy at Sujić's goal was short-lived, as Aleksić immediately converted a penalty awarded for a foul on Mezei. The hosts scored twice more before the end, Pešut making it 5:1 in the last minute.
