Flat display and two late dismissals - Senta vs. Eđšeg (87/88)

Played in cold, windy weather, the match was a disappointment for the home supporters. From the first minute Senta's play was weak, slow and monotonous. After a few harmless moves and the odd minor foul, T. Erdelyi put the ball into the home net in the 37th minute. After that goal the hosts seemed to grow sleepier still: with rare exceptions they moved heavily and hardly dared go near the ball.

After the break, no doubt helped by the words of coach Major, the hosts improved a little, but it frustrated them that nothing would come off. They had only one move worth mentioning, when the yellow-and-blues' forward aimed a header at the bottom right corner and the visiting goalkeeper kept it out with a good dive. Yellow cards piled up, and referee Rauković was not always in control. In the 85th minute a player breaking down the right wing was stopped by a foul, an elbow followed and a slap came in reply, leaving both teams with ten men. Two minutes later, after another incident, Senta were down to nine.
