On the evidence of the first half the hosts could have won by a double-figure score. They were on top for almost the whole match and had only themselves to blame that there were not more goals. The first was not long in coming: in the 15th minute a Hun cross from the right sailed over the defenders straight to Kitli, who made no mistake from close range. Five minutes later the Borac goalkeeper was helpless against Hun's 25-metre drive. In the 24th minute Đurović ran the length of the pitch, shook off his markers and was brought down in the box, and Birkas put the deserved penalty away with confidence. In the 32nd minute Hun picked out Kitli precisely, and two minutes before the break young Paku set up the same player for 5:0.
The hosts were not as eager in the second half, and the visitors sensed it and did all they could to reduce the deficit. D. Mirkov pulled one back in the 51st minute, the goal lifted Borac, who had a slight edge for a while and scored a second through Palatinus in the 59th. Curiously, the visitors created four chances after the break: the young debutant Novak saved two of them, and the other two, after carelessness in the home defence, ended up in the net. Senta then took charge again. In the 67th minute a Kitli header from a Paku cross flew just over the bar, in the 74th the same player missed a sitter, and in the 82nd Paku played him through superbly for his side's sixth goal.
