The hosts won an unequal contest against visitors who were under strength but fought hard to the end. Even so, coach Žmukić's side could make no headway against a well-organised defence for more than thirty minutes. In the 36th minute, after a good move down the left, Belec crossed and Z. Matok volleyed in to start a run - the visitors' net was shaken four times in six minutes.
Z. Matok opened the scoring again after the break, but from then on the goals came less often, roughly every ten minutes, some from combination play and some from individual efforts. The visitors got their consolation in the 72nd minute, a shot from 25 metres at the end of a move down the right sailing over the advancing goalkeeper.
