The two sides met twice in a week - first in the cup, where Senta went through on penalties after a goalless draw, and then in the league. The visitors arrived with four reserves, yet for seventy minutes they held their own against hosts playing well below their ability. Senta could have led in the 15th and 18th minutes, but neither Elezović nor Rudics took his chance. In the 20th minute, after a good move down the left, Csuzdi set up Radulović, whose shot was unstoppable.
The next fifty minutes were dull and devoid of ideas. The hosts had the ball, the visitors defended doggedly. Only after the second goal - Rudics converting a rightly awarded penalty in the 76th minute - did the match come to life. The visitors then had two clear chances, missed first by Popov and then by Zvekan.
After that the hosts took complete control and beat the otherwise sound goalkeeper Roganović three times in four minutes. In the 84th minute Rudics chested down a Simendić cross and scored, in the 86th Elezović converted a Rudics centre, and in the 88th, after Roganović had hit the left post, the goalkeeper spilled his next shot and Rudics scored the fifth. Referee Sinkovics was up to the task.
