From 1:3 to a point in the derby with AFK - Senta vs. AFK (79/80)

It was confirmed once again that the neighbouring side from Ada is, true to tradition, an awkward opponent. Although the hosts had the territorial advantage for most of the match, chance after chance went begging. With the visitors under heavy fire, Barna missed a huge chance as early as the 2nd minute: at the moment he should have converted a superb Todorović cross he slipped on the wet turf and the ball went inches past the left-hand post. In the 12th minute goalkeeper Itinjac only just dealt with a Todorović thunderbolt and dropped the ball, which a sharper forward could easily have put away. The visitors went ahead in the 14th minute from a counter-attack: Ban and Halasz got their legs tangled outside the box and slid into the area, and the referee pointed to the spot. Tobias converted the penalty. In the 36th minute the visitors had a big chance, but Markov too was unbeatable.

The second half began with furious Senta attacks and the equaliser came in its 3rd minute: Popović took down a superb Todorović cross beside the goalkeeper and volleyed in unstoppably. The joy lasted only two minutes, as Mrđanov glanced a header in from a corner. Senta kept fighting with everything for the equaliser: twice in a row Itinjac kept out Popović thunderbolts, and the ball went inches past the woodwork. Just when a home goal was in the air, in the 30th minute of the half the referee penalised a home challenge and Mrđanov's 25-metre free kick went in for 1:3. Even then the Senta lads did not give up, and goals from Barna and Kerleta earned them a point.
