Goalless against Panonija with five reserves - Senta vs. Panonija (79/80)

Senta began the match with five reserves. At that point even the most optimistic supporter would have settled for a draw: Popović, the team's leading scorer, and Štrbački, the unbreakable midfielder, watched from the stands, while Kerleta, the side's sharp young forward, was representing the Tisa region at the central youth celebration in Belgrade. Even without those leading players, however, the hosts showed that they remain unbeaten on their own ground and are still in the running for the title.

It was clear from the start that the visitors had come to Senta wanting to win. Their first chance came from a Banjeglav cross, but the ball ended up in Markov's hands. Senta replied with a series of attacks, and in the 10th minute Sablatura and then Barna threatened Rijavec's goal. Both teams had chances before the break, but the forwards could not make them count. Senta played better after the interval: as early as its 5th minute a Sablatura thunderbolt missed by inches, and then, from a superb Todorović cross, he shot again, only for Rijavec to excel. For more than twenty minutes Senta controlled the game. Towards the end Kalman and then Krizsan had the chance to win both points, but Rijavec's net stayed untouched.
