The match billed as a derby only partly lived up to expectations. Both sides made plenty of mistakes, the rain and the slippery pitch playing their part. The hosts threw everything forward from the first whistle and had a gilt-edged chance as early as the 7th minute, Rudics shooting just over the bar. Two minutes later a 14-metre drive from Franjić went past the left post. Senta kept attacking fiercely while the visitors defended doggedly, clearing the ball in every direction.
After the break the two sides were more evenly matched. The Ratkovo team attacked more boldly but did not create a single real chance, whereas the hosts spent far more time in front of the visitors' goal and fashioned several half-chances, only for the shrewd defence to stay alert.
In the last ten minutes Senta pinned their opponents back. A goal was in the air, and in the 85th minute Kitli was brought down on the edge of the six-yard box with a clear sight of goal - referee Radulović, however, saw it differently. The crowd expected far more from the league leaders.
