Hard-won, but done: the leaders are beaten - Senta vs. Zvezda (60/61)

Because of the Yugoslavia - Hungary international the match was by mutual agreement played a day early, on Saturday afternoon, before about 250 spectators. In the trial of strength between two old rivals the home side proved the better: it was hard, but they managed to avenge the 2:1 defeat suffered in the autumn. In the opening minutes Pinter failed to take a good chance after a quick break, and Senta's forwards then mounted attack after attack. In the 28th minute a visiting full-back handled inside the penalty area, but Đorđević did not convert the penalty.

The second half brought much finer and faster football, with the ball now in front of one goal, now the other. In one Senta attack the visitors' defence hesitated; Bošnjak took advantage and sent a powerful shot into the net from about 10 metres. Zvezda attacked strongly in the last minutes, but Senta's win was deserved.
