The derby only partly lived up to expectations, as only Bačka played well. For the first 25 minutes the hosts had a slight edge and three chances, so nobody foresaw a defeat, but in time the visitors settled, took control and created more and more danger with long balls to their quick wingers. In the 38th minute Popović, who had come on three minutes earlier, put Bačka ahead. A minute before the break Rončević drove a 25-metre shot into the bottom right corner.
The hosts made two changes at half-time, but the second half had barely begun when Marković made it 3:0. Senta's consolation came from a move between the two inside-forwards: Todorović crossed from the left wing and Nikolić sent the ball in with a diving header. Hope lasted about ten minutes, as Popović scored the fourth in the 73rd minute, after which the visitors were completely dominant and Rončević struck three times in seven minutes.
