After Jedinstvo's win some 5,000 enthusiastic supporters celebrated their team at length, as it had reached the Vojvodina League for the first time in the club's history. The hosts' opening goal came in the 7th minute: after a free kick Džajski put the ball in past the helpless Markov. A quarter of an hour after the start Džajski fed Ristovski superbly and he scored from close range into the bottom right corner. In the 25th minute a bad mistake by the home goalkeeper let Senta back in: he ran out to a bouncing ball and missed it, and the alert Bito had no trouble scoring. In the 33rd minute Bito was brought down in front of the box, and the linesman signalled to the referee that Glavaški had struck a Senta player, so the home player was sent off. It then seemed to everyone that Senta would manage to equalise against ten men.
After the change of ends the hosts hit the post in the 60th minute and Ristovski shot the rebound wide. In the 86th, however, he made no mistake, finding the bottom left corner. The Jedinstvo players kept attacking, and in the last minute, after a corner from the right, Krivokapić turned a poorly cleared ball into his own net. Senta president Radovan Popov said afterwards that his side had been unlucky and had not been able to use the extra man, and he congratulated the opponents. Coach Gyorgy Major blamed the poor defending for the defeat.
