Rain had turned the pitch into mud, so there was little chance of attractive football. The combative visitors broke up Senta's attempts well, which meant few openings in the first half, and those that did come went begging. The Kikinda goalkeeper saved a Stojanov header in the 10th minute and a close-range effort from Milivojev in the 25th. The best chance fell to Jović in the 44th minute, but completely unmarked from ten metres he missed the target.

Senta went ahead in the 74th minute when Beleuc turned the ball into his own net after a home corner. Jović and Milivojev then passed up chances to settle it, and that was punished in the 89th minute, when Kovrlija headed in from close range for the final 1:1.
