Kitli hat-trick in Bajša - Partizan vs. Senta (84/85)

Old acquaintances met in fine, sunny weather and excellent conditions. The match began at a great pace, with both sides keen to take an early lead, and for the first 25 minutes the hosts were a match for the title contenders. In the 26th minute Nikolić found himself with a chance some ten metres out and shot first time, and to general surprise the ball went through goalkeeper Hegyellai's legs. In the 31st minute Kozos miscontrolled a cross, the ball fell to Kitli and he made no mistake to put Senta 2:0 up.

After the change of ends the hosts threw everything forward, but their efforts went unrewarded. In the 48th minute a visiting player handled in the box and the referee awarded a penalty without hesitation, but Tajkman shot straight into Dukai's hands. In the 61st minute Senta broke quickly: Agoston raced down the right and crossed well, and Kitli extended the lead with a diving header. In the 80th minute, after a free kick from the right, Kitli rose superbly and headed into the right corner. In the 85th minute Major made the final score 4:1 with a spectacular shot from some 18 metres into the top left corner. Referee Kuzmanov of Horgoš handled the match excellently.
