In windy, cold and rainy weather the small crowd saw a match of good tempo. The hosts controlled the first 45 minutes and missed two clear chances in the first quarter of an hour alone. Their territorial advantage and dangerous attacks paid off only in the 35th minute, when Kovacs put them ahead from a Harmat free kick. The joy lasted just four minutes: in the 39th the visitors won a corner and Jokić equalised after a bad defensive error. Two minutes later the home goalkeeper saved his side from a certain goal.
The second half began with visiting attacks; they gained the upper hand in midfield, though for a long time their moves did not look dangerous. Meanwhile the hosts twice had clear openings, but their forwards could not score. Samardžić punished the missed chances with a goal in the 75th minute. Senta tried to equalise but, piling mistake on mistake, wasted their opportunities, and two minutes from the end the visitors set the final score through Banda, from a counter-attack that had looked harmless.
