The hosts wasted chance after chance in the first half and at the start of the second, which the more experienced side punished to win deservedly in the end. Carek hit the post as early as the 2nd minute, and M. Marčetić, Stantić and Šili then missed big opportunities.

The turning point came in the 62nd minute: the home defence stopped, appealing for offside, and the lively Mazak took advantage to score from close range. Ten minutes from time the same player rounded off a quick counter-attack to settle the result. The refereeing trio handled the match well.
