The home crowd expected a sure win for their favourites, but it was clear from the start that the visitors were playing well and calmly. Senta went ahead in the 12th minute: the ball reached Szorcsik, who found the net from some 30 metres past the surprised goalkeeper. In that part of the game the visitors had constant territorial superiority. In the 25th minute Krizsan reacted quickest in a goalmouth scramble, and in the 40th the same player controlled the ball nicely and steered it past the helpless goalkeeper.
Early in the second half, in the 47th minute, the referee rightly gave a penalty, which Szkajevszki drove in. From that moment the hosts took over: they scored twice, but in the 58th minute, after a mistake in their defence, Szkajevszki got Senta's fifth. In the 71st minute Sloboda pulled another back with the best goal of the match, a shot from some 30 metres, and in the 80th they made it 4:5, but they could not change the result. Szkajevszki, Krizsan and Todorović stood out for Senta.
