The hosts began well and Roganović could have put them ahead as early as the 7th minute: after an attractive move the ball reached Todorović, who crossed, and Gorjanac only just managed to turn Roganović's header behind. Senta mounted several more dangerous attacks over the next three minutes. Meanwhile the Subotica side also shook off their nerves, regrouped and began to counter, and in the 12th minute, after Dukai came rashly off his line, Sever's left winger Dragić had a clear chance, only for Ilijin to clear at the last moment. In the 18th minute the home goal was in danger three times: first Kopunović hit the post, the rebound fell to Horvath, who was not accurate either, and Kujundžić could not take the next chance. In the 21st minute a fierce Horvath shot missed by inches, and the rest of the half was played mostly in midfield.
After the break the visitors attacked in a more organised way, and in the 52nd minute Kujundžić had another chance but missed the target. The hosts then took the upper hand: in the 62nd minute Roganović was released down the right, dribbled past several players and rolled the ball to the well-placed Olajos, who shot home without hesitation. In the 67th minute a well-worked visiting attack won a corner, Dragić delivered to the well-placed Kopunović, and he headed the equaliser past a badly positioned Dukai. The game then became a little rough, and the referee could only calm tempers somewhat by showing yellow cards.
