Opening-day defeat in Subotica - Zorka vs. Senta (83/84)

For a long time both teams played with excessive caution, each probing for the other's weak points. The Zorka players tired of the sparring first: Andjelković shot sharply at goal, a home player was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty, which Margit converted. The initiative stayed with Zorka: Andjelković again ran through with the ball and released Margit, who headed into the net.

Senta, especially early in the second half, tried a few counter-attacks and shots from long range, but Popović saved easily. In the 64th minute Stantić put Bačlija in a good position to make it 3:0, and the same player scored again late on, when Margit released him with a high ball. Only then did the Senta coach make a change: Davidović had barely come on when he got the ball, ran clear and pulled one back in the last minute.
