A poor derby on the Tisza - Senta vs. Potisje (99/00)

Neither side offered much in the Tisza derby, and more might have been expected above all from Kanjiža, who had started the season with ambitions. The hosts had the better of the first half territorially, but as soon as they passed up a promising chance Lackó punished them, rolling the ball low into the bottom left corner from 16 metres after a cross from the left. Tempers flared in the 40th minute and the referee sent off Ilić for his part in a scuffle.

The second half followed a similar pattern: Matok headed inches wide in the 4th minute, and the equaliser came in the 65th, when Gyatko was about to meet a sharp cross from the left but Zec got there first and turned it into his own net. The fine weather drew a good crowd, yet what they saw was thin even for the Subotica league.
