Even playing below their ability, Senta managed to avenge the 4:1 defeat suffered at Solid in the autumn. On chances they could even have won by a double-figure score, but the forwards' finishing was off, as shown by the fact that two of the four goals were scored by centre-half Birkas. The hosts were in control from the start and could have decided the match in the first ten minutes, but Agoston twice in succession failed to beat goalkeeper Vizin from clear positions. The opening goal came in the 30th minute, when Agoston was played through and this time made no mistake, firing past the advancing goalkeeper, and two minutes later Mazak scored from 14 metres. Kitli then hit the post, and in the 43rd minute Agoston was brought down in the box when clean through, but the referee's whistle stayed silent.
The hosts kept attacking after the break, but from a host of chances they converted two only in the last five minutes. A word, too, for the Solid players, who fought openly throughout and gave everything they had.
