Sablatura settles the derby before 2,000 - Senta vs. AFK (78/79)

Not for a long time had so many spectators gathered at the ground, and for days beforehand the main topic had been which team would win. The crowd did not see an attractive, enjoyable match, but it saw a great battle in which every ball had to be fought for. The hosts sensed that only a win would keep them in step with the leaders from Ada, since an away win would practically have secured first place for the visitors; as it is, the race for the top is open again. Senta played well and fought for the win. The visitors showed themselves a solid side, good on the ball and quick, though their finishing was not up to standard. They played hard, in manly fashion, at times too hard, and the hosts did their share too: four yellow cards and one sending-off, that of Pozsgai, were the tally.

The match began with Senta attacks. Until the 10th minute the hosts attacked, then the visitors settled and chances came at both ends. In the 12th minute Štrbački shot sharply on the turn, but the goalkeeper saved. In the 15th minute, after a fine visiting move, a tremendous Pozsgai shot struck the post. In the 30th minute Markov was in the right place for a powerful Pribić effort. Sablatura replaced Bito while the first half was still in progress, and in the first minute of the second he decided the match: taking the ball on the wing, he ran inside and from twenty metres found the top right corner.
