There were no goals until the 34th minute, when Petrović put Cvetićanin through and he shot first time to beat Cvitko. Four minutes later Harmat brought down Patarcsics, the referee pointed to the spot and Vidić made it 2:0.

In the second half Predrag Petrović, one of the best players in the home side, beat the Senta goalkeeper four times. In the 58th minute Patarcsics broke through alone, shook off his marker and placed the ball neatly into the right corner. The visitors pulled one back through Mazak in the 70th minute. It was a sporting contest, and referee Kocsis and his assistants handled it faultlessly.
