Seven goals and a defeat to open the spring - Senta vs. Njegoš (82/83)

A big disappointment awaited the home crowd: after successful warm-up matches everyone expected a win, but the defence had a poor day and handed victory to visitors who otherwise played superbly. Of the midfielders only Farago stood out, while the visitors knew exactly what they wanted and took four of their six clear chances. Senta went ahead in the 17th minute: the move began with Farago, and Petrović broke through the defence, rounded the goalkeeper and scored. The joy lasted eight minutes, as after a Martinović free kick the unmarked Radović volleyed in a goal of rare beauty.

The hosts took more of the initiative after the break, and in the 59th minute Todorović was brought down in the box and I. Zmukić converted the penalty with confidence. Four minutes later Njegoš equalised again from a Crnojević free kick, and after another four minutes substitute Beljević put the visitors ahead. Štrbački levelled once more with a free kick from 16 metres, but in the battle for the winner it was the more sensible, organised and composed visitors who prevailed, Lazić making it 3:4 in the 74th minute.
