In a match of average quality Senta won with more difficulty than expected. The visitors from Kanjiža came determined to prove themselves against a title contender and backed that up with good football, but their spirit was not enough to trouble the hosts seriously. Senta had more of the play and, besides the four goals, missed three more clear chances. The visitors began fiercely: as early as the 2nd minute Basa set up Mazak on the left wing, but he headed over from a good position. Home counter-attacks followed: Potpara put Kitli clean through, only for him to waste the chance, and in the 8th minute Nikolić missed a sitter too. The pressure told in the 12th minute, when Kitli released Agoston, who beat Pajić with a hard, low shot. In the 24th minute Basa equalised after a bad defensive error, but the visitors' joy lasted only four minutes: in the 28th Kitli scored from an Agoston cross.
The hosts remained the more dangerous side after the break. In the 53rd minute Agoston converted a gilt-edged opening in front of the visitors' goal to make it 3:1. The pressure continued, Nikolić and Csuzdi wasted chances to add to the lead, and in the 64th minute Pajić needed all his skill to keep out a fierce shot from Hun. Then the visitors came back into it, and in the 78th minute Basa pulled one back from a harmless-looking counter, after another bad mistake in the home defence. Senta took control again, and in the 82nd minute Kitli shook off his markers and, through on goal inside the box, could only be stopped by a foul. Farago converted the penalty. In the 90th minute Basa completed his hat-trick to make the final score 4:3.
