Six past Bačka to open the spring - Senta vs. Bačka (78/79)

Before a large crowd hungry for football the home side, almost constantly on top, won big against Bačka. The visitors did not offer the resistance the home supporters had expected, remembering the autumn defeat in Mol. The hosts went ahead as early as the 7th minute: the defenders failed to deal with a Bito cross and Todorović found the net with a sharp mid-height shot. Senta kept coming at the visitors' goal in waves. In the 24th minute the referee gave a free kick some twenty metres out; the goalkeeper dropped the fierce shot and Krivokapić put the ball in for 2:0.

In the 33rd minute, after a fine move, Todorović crossed at mid-height, the defenders waited for the goalkeeper to intervene, and Bito burst in to head the third. In the 38th minute the ball went from Todorović to Štrbački, whose cross Bito converted. Two minutes later Bito got away from his marker and was tripped in the box by a defender, and Krivokapić made it 5:0 from the penalty spot. The second half began with fierce visiting attacks, while the hosts, as if satisfied with their big lead, took it easy. The visitors did not know what to do with their superiority and made many mistakes in front of goal, and they paid for it: in the 74th minute Gvozdenović broke clear of the defence and scored the sixth past the advancing goalkeeper.
