Senta attacked the visitors' goal fiercely from the first whistle. As early as the 2nd minute a Nikolić header flew just past the post, and chances kept coming as the visitors from Bikovo concentrated mostly on defending. Their moves got no further than the halfway line and they only rarely came near the home goal. Csuzdi could have put Senta ahead after a goalmouth scramble but missed the chance, a fierce Farago shot grazed the crossbar, and in the 34th minute another Nikolić header missed Janković's goal by inches.
Senta were the more dangerous side after the break too and pinned their opponents back completely. The visitors defended desperately, clearing the ball in all directions, twice right out of the ground. The goal came in the 57th minute, from a throw-in: Nikolić threw the ball from level with the six-yard line to the penalty spot, and Stantić timed his run well and beat the previously faultless Janković without hesitation. After the goal the visitors went in search of an equaliser and the game evened out at times, but the hosts still looked the more threatening. In the 76th minute Stantić tested Janković again with a fierce shot from twenty metres that the goalkeeper did well to save. From the 80th minute Senta played with ten men, as Stantić was injured and coach Major had already used both substitutes. The visitors could not take advantage, and Davidović wasted a clear chance two minutes from time. The win was deserved and could have been bigger.
